Liffey Celtics got to know Toomas very well over the past few years. As well as being our Superleague coach during season 2011/2012, he coached at some of our camps, and many of our players attended his camps and 3 on 3 competitions. A number of traits were always obvious from Toomas – his love of basketball, good humour, his enthusiasm and drive, his willingness to help, encourage, listen (and talk), and above all his decency.

When Liffey Celtics was covered in The Star newspaper for the first Slam Dunk edition, Toomas was widely quoted in the article – later the journalist involved said his interview with Toomas was one of the best sports interviews he has undertaken. We at Liffey Celtics Basketball Club would like to express our condolences to his family, and to all his colleagues and friends at Ballon Basketball club and Palmerstown Community School. He will be missed by all.
