Liffey Celtics went top of the Women’s Premier League on Saturday night with a convincing 65-49 win over Meteors at Leixlip Amenities Centre. Celtics got in front midway through the second quarter by pressing home their height advantage and spreading the scoring. Shelby Smith scored 19 points, Meagan Hoffman 16 points, captain Aine O’Connor finished with 11 points, 6 steals and 67% shooting accuracy. Erin Bracken had 5 offensive rebounds and 2 three pointers on her column while Suzanne Maguire picked up 10 rebounds.
Celtics go top of the premier league for the first time in their history having played a game more than second placed Team Montenotte Hotel. The two sides face each other in Glanmire on Saturday.
