Celtics Win 3 Dublin Cups

March 23, 2015

Great weekend for the club in the Oblates as the DMBB hosted the mens underage cup finals. The club had 4 teams participating at U12, U13, U14 & U16. The weekend started early Saturday morning as the U14 boys were playing their 3rd cup final in a row. The boys played a fantastic game of basketball showing skill beyond their years beating Templeogue on a scoreline of 59-34. Everyone contributed in what was a real team effort ! The boys have had a great season and are really looking forward to participating in the upcoming AICC tournament.

Next up the U16 lads were taking on Templeogue. The green army started in fantastic fashion and the game was close going into the 3rd. Celtics built up a 7 point lead but then lost some momentum with Templeogue seizing control of the game. Templeogue went on to win the cup but the lads showed how much they have progressed over the last year.

The U12 boys played out a nail biter against a very good Malahide side. Both teams were playing great basketball with some fine skill on display for their age. The extra height that Celtics had in their team made a difference in an exciting game of basketball. The Celtics boys took the game on a scoreline of 35 -31.

Sunday morning was another early start for the U13 boys taking on St. Vincents. Supporters for both sides were out in their numbers and from the first whistle both teams were playing a competitive game of basketball. Celtics got out of the blocks quickly and never looked back as they built an early lead and went on to take the cup for a second successive year.

Well done to everyone involved !
