Celtics player heading to the European Olympics

One of Liffey Celtics newest recruits has booked her place to the European Olympics with the Irish womens 3×3 team. Suzanne Maguire competed this past weekend in 3×3 European Championships in Bucharest. A 10th placed finish has guaranteed the Irish womens team a spot in the Olympic games in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2015. Team Ireland beat Ukraine in overtime and became the first Irish basketball squad to qualify for an Olympic event.

The Irish Squad for the European 3×3 Championships was Suzanne Maguire of Liffey Celtics (captain), Ailish McLaughlin of DCU Saints and sisters Niamh and Grainne Dwyer from Team Montenotte Hotel in Cork.
